BIOGRAPHYBIOGRAPHY
A voice shaped between the piano keyboard and the opera stage — from Tarragona to the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

Carolina Fajardo is a Spanish dramatic soprano born in Tarragona. She began her musical training in piano at the local conservatory before turning to voice at the Conservatori de Música de Vilaseca, where she studied with Teresa Garrigosa and Alan Branch and graduated with the Highest Honours Prize.
Her artistic formation has been guided by some of the most influential names of recent operatic history — Montserrat Caballé, Cecilia Bartoli and Carlos Caballé — and she continues to refine her technique with Carmen Bustamante, professor at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona. Her répétiteur is Josep Buforn.

A winner of the Camerata Sant Cugat Competition (2018) and the Concurso Internacional de Les Corts (2020), her operatic engagements include Suor Angelica at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Cio-Cio-San at the Palau de la Música Catalana, her debut as Lady Macbeth at the Òpera de Sabadell, and Tosca at the Teatre Aliança del Poblenou and the Palau de la Música.
In the 2024–25 season she covered Cio-Cio-San at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. The current 2025–26 season sees her cover the title role of La Gioconda and return as Tosca, alongside a series of German Lied recitals featuring Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder, songs by Richard Strauss, and Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder. She looks forward to her debut as Turandot, and is currently preparing Santuzza and Amelia.
